The sessions are between 45 minutes and an hour long, on-to-one with you and your child; based in a brilliantly equipped centre in Aylesbury.<\/p>\n<p>The sessions address issues relating to gross and fine motor skills, visual perception, pre-writing skills, self-care (i.e. dressing, using cutlery, toileting, etc.) and sensory processing.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Sensory integr<\/span><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">ation<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-997 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sparkles.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/ot-4-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"Sparkles Downs Syndrome Occupational Therapy \" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sparkles.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/ot-4-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.sparkles.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/ot-4.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Children with Down\u2019s syndrome can often experience sensitivity to certain food textures, sounds, bright lights and unfamiliar situations, resulting in distress and behavioural issues.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"st\" data-hveid=\"118\" data-ved=\"0ahUKEwiR08eEmtTWAhVJb1AKHTHhBzEQ4EUIdjAP\">Sensory integration is a form of occupational therapy that helps address these and other types of sensory processing issues.
