Sparkles is also a support network for the families involved and past members.<\/p>\n

We have a Facebook page where our members can share information, ask for guidance, celebrate their childrens’ achievements or simply have a good chat!<\/p>\n

We run events to bring Sparkles families together and help raise money. In past years we’ve organised family fun days out to Thomley Activity centre, a sponsored “Big Step Forward” walk and picnic and an evening fund-raising gala and auction.<\/p>\n

Local Buckinghamshire support groups<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have close ties to local support groups. These offer regular meet-ups and wider social and recreational support for all ages and their families:<\/p>\n

South Bucks Down’s Syndrome Group<\/a> – supporting people with Down’s syndrome and their families and carers in the South Bucks area, providing friendship, support and activities for its members.<\/p>\n

North Bucks Down’s Syndrome Group<\/a> – a parent led support group for families, professionals and people with Down\u2019s syndrome. Regular activities and meetings based in North Buckinghamshire.<\/p>\n

This Way Up<\/a> – an opportunity for parents\/carers of new babies with Down\u2019s syndrome and pre-schoolers to get together for talk and support. The group meet regularly in each others homes.<\/p>\n
